Sitali pranayama - the cooling breath
no matter if you face yourself in an area that is wrapping you in warm weather at the moment or not, taking a cooling breath is always welcome.
not only is it supposed to cool the body down, but also the mind, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps you to serenity and relaxation.
find a comfortable seat and take a few long and relaxed breaths. open the mouth and form the lips into an “o”, then stick out the tongue and curl the sides up into a “u” shape. inhale through the mouth/tongue as if you are sipping the breath in through a straw, making a “ssssssss" sound. fill the lungs completely then close the lips gently, point the tip of your tongue up you gum and take a soft pause, holding the breath in, for about 5 seconds. slowly exhale out through the nose. repeat for 1 to 5 minutes.
stay cool dear friends!
