it's been a while... this house, the new life, still needs a lot if work. there is days I can overlook all this, but others...well, good and not so good days everywhere for everyone, right.
what I personally need and can only recommend to all is to find your morning ritual. I've found mine quite some time ago and my day is just so different if it doesn't happen, it's totally worth getting up early.
I get up before anyone else. the quiet house, the peace and calm it reflects, is amazing. I haven't found the perfect spot to sit down for my pranayama practice, but for now this just shows that it's possible everywhere.
I am not going to write down the breathing practice I do (can be found in an earlier post). I chose the breath to be my first focus each day - I focus, I cleanse, I am still.
and once I get up after, I try to take the calmness with me - don't worry I do not always succeed, but hey, I am here to try over and over again :-)
after this little sequence, of pranayama and meditation, I usually still got some minutes, before I have to wake all the others, and, a while ago, I started to write things down. can be a word, a sentence, a poem, nonsense, a to do list, a wish-list, a feeling - you see, this list is endless, but great!
then it starts- the business, the grumpiness - simply, morning joy of a family of 4, where two have to get to school, one to work and the last, well, work in many different ways.
usually I get the girls to school and we either take the bus or the car and we're lucky that both ways take us along the lake, that usually gives the most beautiful picture.
after many weeks of me going "uuuh, aaah, look how beautiful", it's now sometimes even one of the girls noticing this special moment and scenery before me.
and so a simple "picure" we pass, usually lifts our morning, no matter what.
this picture was taken Wednesday morning. we were stuck in traffic, as everyone was out in their car, as all public transport was on strike.
not too bad after all, isn't it.
now, how are your mornings?
