I usually start my weekends Thursday afternoon, once the kids come home from school. right then the relaxing can start...no afternoon clubs to run to, no homework's to finish straight away, no dinner needs to be ready on time...you know it ;-)
the plan for last Thursday afternoon was to pick up two friends of the girls and have them over for a play...as I hurt my knee quite badly on Wednesday I had to change my plan, as I only got a physio appointment in the afternoon...
so we started off differently and I was a bit worried as I had a yoga workshop starting Thursday evening...
to make a long story short, my week-end did start that evening and I feel blessed and honoured to have met this woman who encouraged me to attend this workshop and made me modify the practice for my hurt knee but not focus too much on what I can't do, but what I still can do...keeping the blood flow going and oh, make me feel alive!
after the workshop on Thursday I came home to a wonderful weekend evening situation...the kids hanging out watching Madagascar 2, my husband waiting for me to get ready to go out...as it was our wedding anniversary we chose to have dinner at a little restaurant close by, nothing fancy but just the two of us!
Friday started with a pancake breakfast for the rest of the family while I was off to continue this workshop... I came home around lunchtime to enjoy a snack with the family. I decided to skip the afternoon session to have some family time, playing and listening to this. since a long time we also managed to find time to do a yoga session for my husband. to do so we had to have dinner outside, not too bad, as we met up with friends at a close by restaurant, enjoying good company and nice food. the kids had fun playing together and we took one more child home for a sleep over.
it was a late night for the girls, especially the older ones, chatting and giggling when I was already in bed drifting off to sleep...
Saturday was filled with more yoga for me...I got up to make waffles for the waking up crowd, kissed them all good bye and had more of this workshop. and a definite highlight of the day was lunch at this place...wonderful food, great company :-)
after I got home from the workshop late afternoon it was wonderful to slip back into our cosy home, another yoga session happened and the day was rounded by a nice family dinner...my husband and I watching Harry Potter VI before bed...oh, it was a good weekend...how was yours?
sounds like a great weekend and like that workshop was just what you needed!
