we always have a choice...

or at least I think we do...

since we're back from our holiday I had quite a week...and this is not just because I am still with a runny nose that just doesn't want to stop...

despite the fact that I am running behind the things that need to be done, I feel light and free, open and grounded... I can accept the fact that not everything can be done at once and that my body needs time to get back into practice and that a cup of coffee is just what I need in that very moment...no regrets...

and I am more than happy that I have the possibility to give a little bit of this to, not only the people around me, but also my yoga students.
it was the week of letting go, letting flow...moving your body without thinking about it. and letting music take you away. it's not always the silence, sometimes it needs music to drift away...
especially since I am always teaching one yoga class a week in a classical way, I also realized that exactly that silence makes some people put too many thoughts into their doing.

so then, as we always have a CHOICE, I chose to do a new playlist for this week and I think people enjoyed it ;-)

but in the end you and I know that it is not so much about the choice of putting music with your practice or not...

my older daughter and I had a chat last night...funny enough it turned out to be about our own CHOICE and using our VOICE...
she tends to let other people chose, even though they might not chose what she'd prefer, then she would not use her voice to express her unhappiness, just to not make other people unhappy...oh, how I know that feeling...it took me 30 years to realize that I can not make it right for everyone and that it hurts a lot (mentally and physically) to let other people make all the choices and never use your own voice...

luckily I realized now that I do have the choice to say with whom I want to do things and what I want to do...and...
yoga came into my life...
it starts physically but  luckily makes it's way into your every day life, if you let it happen.

right now, that is what I enjoy most, the many situations I can practice yoga in every day life... and, if you ask me, that's a lot harder then the stuff we do on our mat, and that really is our own CHOICE ;-)
