my latest "love"

on our last Vienna trip I picked up a cook book I was looking at for a long time already.

and yes, I fell in love with it and definitely want to get more of Heidi Swansons books! it's also a lot more than just a cook book. it gets you in touch with flours, grains...that you (at least I) would never have thought of.
my only problem is that I can't get lots of ingredients here, but there is always a way to adjust and we're not going to be here forever ;-)

unfortunately I didn't have much time to make a lot of things yet, but tried the "Clemenquat Salat, with Walnuts and Parmesan Shaving" right away and it was delicious and eaten fast, that I almost forgot to take a picture :-)

if you want to find out more about Heidi Swanson

although it wasn't super natural I've been cooking quite a bit last week:

first I made the kids very happy as I made lots and lots of "Marillenknoedel" (can't come up with an english word for it), basically dumplings with apricots inside, rolled in breadcrumbs.

as almost every day I try to do yoga in the morning I don't take much of a breakfast before but treat me with lots of yummy fruit, yogurt, nuts, maple syrup and coconut flakes later in the day...

finally we also managed to invite a friend of ours over for dinner. his family is not with him at the moment so his life is basically work and take away food in front of the TV.
this time I tried something completely different. as my husband was happy to get the BBQ going I went for salmon and tuna kebabs with cherry tomatoes, mixed fried vegetables and rosemary potatoes.
everything turned out great and it was such a lovely evening that has to be repeated soon...

not to forget the yummy plum cake and the one thing that you can't prevent when cooking...lots and lots of dishes :-)

it's almost weekend for me and we're off to the beach to do some lovely fish BBQ again...wishing you all a wonderful weekend with lots of yummy food!
