I do not want what I haven't got

after 6 weeks of almost no cooking I was really looking forward to my kitchen, my tools and lots of homemade stuff.
not that I didn't enjoy all the wonderful food and places of food we were lucky enough to have in Vienna...it just got a bit too much in the end.
so back in my kitchen we started off with a wonderful vegetable risotto made by my lovely husband! we even shared that meal with friends and it couldn't have been a better start... a creamy pumpkin soup and a delicious salad with whatever could be found followed.
and as it is high season of strawberries in Egypt I couldn't wait to make jam and have "Palatschinken" (the Austrian pancakes) with it.
today we finished the week with delicious tuna steaks, stir-fryd mixed vegetables and sesame potatoes...

we're back home for a week now and this week was packed with a lot of emotions...we cried tears of happiness of being back home and we cried tears of sadness at the funeral of our friends son...we're glad to be able to come back to normality and daily routines and at the same time are very worried about friends and people in Libya and on top of all this our thoughts go to Japan in between...

once more I am more than grateful for what I have and while I am writing this one of my favorite songs from Sinead o'Connor comes to my mind so I am going to share this one with you...
