{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

believe

yes, here it is - the last day of school for the girls!

my big girl finished Year 3 and the little girl is happily moving on to Year 1.
today and over the last few days they said good bye to quite a few friends and we had lots of tears during todays final assembly. but that's the way it is in the life we live - people come and go...this year it just seemed a bit too much, but luckily we have so many wonderful memories we share and also, we don't know (in this life we live) when or where we might meet again!

I am quite proud of my girls how wonderful they managed all the challenges and ups and downs within that year. both of them had wonderful teachers and again it's hard to let go of someone you just got used to and move on to the next.

the kids sang this wonderful song at the final assembly. a wonderful song to point out what really matters - all is possible if you just believe in yourself!

in the moment

only 6 more days of school...

the last weeks, especially this one have been soooooooo busy.
busy with lots of things, and yes, mainly good things. one of the best - I am playing the violin again! it's so much fun and it takes me back to so many wonderful memories and within creating new... it's about time to do so, as my main violin memories are pre-kids!

the rest of the busyness is preparing for so many people who are leaving...spending some time with people before they go and create memories that they can take with them...I am in the middle of it all and in one way I am glad, because that keeps me focused on the doing and not so much thinking about all this friends who'll leave us this year...

but what I had to realise today, as I do every year, at this point...I shouldn't forget to enjoy and take it all in. so today is all about enjoying being excited for the kids on stage and of course myself sitting in the band - we've all worked really hard.
and after that the focus is on spending a little more time with friends...it doesn't really matter how and where, it's all about being together...

and after all that it's off to Austria for me and the girls...

as I haven't been back to playing music after I started yoga it's interesting to find the balance between keeping the feet on the floor and putting them right up in the air :-)

oh and that's me... 10 years ago... maybe I should go back to that hair colour ;-)

week-end

you know that in my part of the world I am already the second day into the week and oh, the week-end was full and good, but now I'd be ready for an empty week-end and just a little cooler weather... but let's start from well, the start :-)

Thursday night with friends who came to visit...Friday started slow and hot, so the morning was mainly spent in the pool...just a quick lunch as we all had to get ready for the dance performance of the big girl!

after that it was Pizza and BBQ at a friend's place - hot, but filled with good friends and good food!

Saturday started early for me as it was Namaste World day... as Friday night was pretty late for the girls, I let them sleep in and slipped out of the house for some wonderful garden yoga to start with...I was teaching a wonderful, energising class after that, coming home to get my home ready for people joining us for lunch and more Namaste World goodness :-)

it feels every day of the week-end it got hotter here in Cairo and power cuts are back...usually I am not bothered by the heat, still, the last two days were tough...there is a lot of breathing going on, but hey, we'll survive :-)

how was your week-end?

following thehabitofbeing, sharing this special time of the week with you!
